Pomegranate seed oil is a thin, fluid oil with a pale yellow to golden colour. It has a slightly nutty or woody aroma and is obtained by cold pressing the washed seeds of the pomegranate fruit.

It is the only known botanical source of punicic acid, also known as omega-5. This rare essential fatty acid makes up approximately 65% of the fatty acid content in pomegranate oil.
